The manufacturing process by the top artificial grass manufacturers is second to none, ensuring that you get the highest quality product that is durable, long-lasting, and looks just like the real thing. Using state-of-the-art technology and materials, the manufacturing process starts with carefully selecting the best synthetic fibers that are UV-resistant and water-repellent. These fibers are then tufted onto a backing material using precision machinery, ensuring uniform distribution and maximum coverage.
Manufactures will generally include a warranty with the norm being approx. 10 years,
Manufacturers warranty varies with many different claims, read the small print to find out what this entails and they suits your requirements.

WHAT TO CONSIDER
Pile Height If you're looking to combine the best of both worlds, 20 mm to 30 mm is your go to pile height. Your artificial grass will look like it's just been mowed and, together with the right pile density, should be resilient enough to tolerate a great deal of foot traffic. If you are after a premium luxury feel, then go with a 30mm plus pile height, the thicker the better, a 40mm thick grass is generally the most popular choice with clients looking to transform their garden into a beautiful luxury space. All of our Artificial grasses are extremely durable, keeping your lawn looking fresher for longer.
Pile Density Premium quality artificial grass tends to have a density of around 16750 stitches per metre. Cheap artificial grass tends to have densities around 6000 stitches per metre with the exception of green grocer type grass which has considerably lower density.
Yarn type Artificial grass made with nylon is better-protected against the elements compared to polypropylene grass. It's a particularly strong type of plastic fibre, so if you're looking for a artificial grass that can withstand children and pets, consider nylon grass.
Yarn colours Artificial grass products that have varying shades of green. Olive green, dark green and lime green mixed together will offer a more lush and natural look
Yarn shape Initially artificial grass was manufactured as a flet fibre, but as demand for a more realistic looking grass, different 3D shapes are now available. The shape of the yarn, the grass blade will offer a unique set of different characteristics, lets have a look at some of them below Flat Fibres...these fibres were the first step in artificial grasses, they are a cost effective solution especially for larger areas. V-Shape...One of the first 3D shapes, the theory behind this shape was that it would make the grass blade stand upright and give the grass an authentic look, whilst this is true from a distance because of the way it reflects lightt its obvious that the grass is artificial W-Shape...this shape was designed to try and overcome the reflection issue of the V shape, it only enfacised the products flaws more C-Shape... with the disapointment of the V &W blades, the C shape was introduced, this shape resolved the reflection issues and the genuine look of the grass. to reinforce the grass blade, the blade comes with a seam to help the blade sit upright and bounceback givig it durability and ideal for high footfall areas Oval Shape... This is considered to be used where high footfall will be present, a fantastic looking luxury grass, with very authentic properties, this is a costly grass but well worth is for the look and feel of the grass There are a lot more and different manufacturers will have their own take on some of the above, Wave Shape, Stem, Double Stem, Diamond, Double Diamond, Wave, S shape, U-Shape, Mini W, M Shape, O Shape, Triangle Shape... and more
Backing Material Artificial grass ‘backing’ is the material that holds the blades (yarn) in place. The backing consists of primary and secondary backing. It is one of the most important components of an artificial grass system. Primary Backing typically is one or more layers of woven or non-woven fabric. The fabric is made from high-strength polyester or polypropylene. Artificial grass fibers are tufted into this backing in rows. The primary backing allows the synthetic grass fibers to be tufted into the material in rows and facilitates seaming between artificial grass panels. Secondary Backing are used to permanently secure the tuft and to add stability to the artificial grass system. There are two common coating materials Latex & Polyurethane (PU) Most manufacturers will coat the whole back of the surface and then perforate it for drainage purposes. Both latex and polyurethane coated backings are strong enough, and most of the artificial grass products on the market are applied latex coating. Polyurethane backing is better and as such at a higher price as well. Benefits of polyurethane coated backing compared to Latex: 1. Polyurethane coating provides a greater tear resistance of the yarns because polyurethane penetrates the fibers more evenly and is more evenly distributed. 2. Polyurethane’s properties remain stable over time, even in extreme weather conditions. It does not crumble or deteriorate. 3. The transport and installation of polyurethane backed artificial turf is a little easier because it is reduced weight. Why is the Backing so Important? The backing is one of the main factors which determine quality of the turf product. The quality of backing is one of the main factors that affects the artificial grass cost. The backing holds the grass blades in place, preventing them from being pulled out and gives the grass strength and durability. The artificial grass manufacturing process involves stitching the blades (yarn) to a backing, and then applying high quantity of the latex or polyurethane coating. The higher the quantity of latex/polyurethane, the stronger durable the backing will be Choosing an artificial grass with a low-quality backing can result in several potential problems. Some low quality artificial grasses have reduced amounts of latex (or polyurethane) used in the secondary layer of their backing material. It is an easy way of cutting costs and most consumers will not realize this, as the backing won’t necessarily look any different from that of a good quality artificial grass until it’s too late. The backing of the low quality Artificial grass may break down, crack or the two layers separating entirely, and if soaked in the rain for a long period of time can cause obvious loss of yarn, whereby the fibers become detached from the backing. This will result in the pile progressively thinning over time leaving bare patches in your lawn Look for the warranty that the manufacture offers to back up the quality of the material.
Pet Friendly Pet friendly artificial grass is not affected by urine and waste, Cats & dogs love playing, running, rolling around, and relaxing on artificial grass
Fully Recyclable Some manufacturers claim that their artifical grass is 100% recyclable & Construction from recycled waste material is available
UV Protection Why quality artificial grass won't fade in the sun. The good news is that most modern artificial grass is protected against sunlight and UV rays. During the manufacturing process, the grass is UV stabilised. This protects it against fading.
Warranty Almost all products worth money comes with a warranty. The more money you put into a product, the longer you expect it to work and the more vital your warranty becomes. A warranty is a guarantee to you that protects your investment. Think of a warranty on artificial grass much like an insurance policy; it’s only as valuable as the coverage it provides. Every warranty for artificial grass varies based on the type of product, the brand name and where you purchase it from. Artificial grass is a large investment and you want to rest assured that it will last for 10 to 15 years. As usual, some warranty offers will sound too good to be true, and it probably is. Know what your warranty is, how it works and what the fine print says before you sign your name on the dotted line. Lifetime Warranty There is a broad range of artificial grass products that are designed to perform in a variety of ways depending on where you want the grass and what region it will be located in. Lower quality or cheaper material will have less extensive coverage and warranties than better product. When a warranty mentions the words “lifetime”, it’s important to make sure that it is actually lifetime. Warranty details material when artificial grass is being purchased and just because it says “lifetime”, it usually translates to the 15 years of lifetime for artificial turf.
