THE INSTALLATION PREPERATION
GROUND PREP
Dig up existing lawn and remove debris to allow a flat area to a depth of approx 100mm, depending on ground conditions and use
SUB BASE & EDGING
The next step is to insert the edging and the first base layer. The edging secures the artificial grass when it has been laid. When complete, Type 1 aggregate
is added, a granular sub-base material that is created using recycled crushed concrete and rubble. It's made up of a mix of larger 40mm pieces right down to dust which compacts well to form a solid base
SHARP SAND/ GRANITE DUST
Next part is to lay the sharp sand. This effectively acts as the base for the artificial grass.
Levveling with the use of a whacker plate – so it’s compacted and smooth.
The smoother the better so the rolls of artificial grass will lay better.
MEMBRANE
Adding a protective layer of a membrane protects against any weeds and other plants, which may grow up from beneath it.
ARTIFICIAL GRASS
The artificial grass will be laid, trimmed and jointed along any seams where necessary and pinned down, any Joints should be weighted whilst setting
INFILL & BRUSHING
Lastly, the artificial grass will be sand dressed with kiln dried sand to stabilise the grass and increase its durability.
Power brushed in the opposite direction to the pile height to brush in the sand and help lift the fibres into an upright position
HANDOVER
Finally, with the sun shining, grab yourself a drink
... celebrate and enjoy your new lush green, beautiful lawn
